When I began the Santa appearances, I was using a 1982 Harley FLT.
The enclosed scrap book shows how I started with couple of candy canes mounted to the front mounting holes of the windshield with P clamps. Then I used a couple of flagpole mounting brackets for the candy canes on the rear of the saddle bag guard rails
As time went on I had a custom pair of reindeer antlers made with a 3-D printer and mounted this to the front of the Harley windshield mounting holes. The problem with a 3-D printer is that these antlers are plastic and hollow core. I would later see an issue with them having stress cracks where I mounted them to the Harley windshield.
A search for bone antlers would begin to fit my needs.
It did not take long for me to want to improve this. Time for LED lights on the reindeer antlers, rear candy canes and now I needed to find a way to mount a Christmas tree to the top of the tour pack. The lights will flash, fade or just glow to an adjustable brightness. with my remote control
Now I needed to play music. I added a 800 watt marine amplifier with speakers on the highway bars. It was now time for the people down the road hear me call out my reindeer with 800 watts
As the 1982 bike got older and survived a major crash in 2015 with me on it, I would later changeover to a 2000 Harley road king.
It did not take long for me change the stock road king paint job paint job to an Imron Viper red paint color to brighten up the Santa sleigh.
The years went buy and I wanted a better Christmas tree. I had a custom aluminum T-pee style Christmas tree made up with LED lights.
What you do not see is the Compu Fire 14 volt three phase charging system along with a special made battery that would provide 350 cold cranking amps for the sleigh
The last part of 2020 saw me bring in a special pair of Caribou / reindeer antlers as I wired these with LED lights and made special mounting brackets to mount these to the front of the sleighs windshield. I wanted to add more “sleigh bells too
As you study the picture of me at Orlando Harley, you can see how we made the sleigh bells fit the sides of the saddle bag guard rails. You will hear me as I jingle down the road and my engine vibrations set off the bells.
A lot of work has been done to bring a special smile to young and old alike as I ride in on my Florida appearances on my OPEN SLEIGH and custom made suits.
