Santa visits DCF 06

It is extremely rare that I make the parade appearances anymore.

I have had the honor and joy of working with a local group of bikers called The Window Washers

For two years, I had a special Santa motorcycle escort doing a parade in Longwood, Fl called the Citizens on Patrol. I enjoyed the first two years immensely

We had a problem with an air cooled motorcycle going at 2 to 5 mph through the streets and trying to keep the engine cool  Often I saw others including myself  have damage to their Harleys.

In addition to the Longwood COP Parade, I have been honored to work with the Bahia Shrine’s Crash Team unit in Nov as they host Crash A Rama or now called the night of destruction. After these parades, I  had a cost issue with my older Harley in keeping up with maintenance and repairs.

I tried special oil coolers and air cooled fans to keep the Haley running cooler.  Regretfully I still had issues and a cost of repairs afterwards.

Although I have done a parade for a special friend in the Cleremont area, this is probably and exception for me as I generally now  try to avoid the parades on my Harley Sleigh. The HOA in Cleremont  was able to work with me to offer  special concessions as to the heating issue

I made a shift to personal appearances if possible. This gave me a chance to interact with the crowd vs being an icon that drove by with very little personal contact.

Another issue I have to deal with a low back injury as well as a heat issue with Fl’s warm weather even in Dec.  This has forced me to limit my time in the seat of the Harley.

The personal appearances using the stage props I have created and cooling system to me from overheating in the suit have worked out well for me.  I love the way I get to spend time for a once on one with the families and crowd.
